About Header

Hermione Hennessy has spent her working life in the music industry, helping nurture and develop acts such as Kami Thompson (Richard and Linda's daughter), Judie Tzuke, Stephen Bishop and Aled Jones, alongside her father, Christie Hennessy as well as creatively aiding a diversity of acts from Groove Armada through to Justin Timberlake and Elaine Paige, via McFly and R Kelly.

Since her father's untimely death, she has been managing Christie's back catalogue and taking care of the legacy, ensuring it will stay alive eternally. And proving that an apple doesn't fall far from the tree, Hermione releases her new album Songs My Father Taught Me in the UK in Spring 2011 on Warner Music. This album is as much about him as it is about Hermione. Songs My Father Taught Me showcases a performer whose entire life has been steeped in the poetry and music of Ireland, with vocal stylings that remind of the likes of Joni Mitchell, Kate Bush, right up to the beautiful and dramatic style of Ute Lemper.

Having hit the Number One spot on the Indie Charts in Ireland for 5 weeks last year, it's a record that not only pays tribute to Christie, but an album he urged her to make before he died. Hermione Hennessy is a classically trained pianist with a voice inherited from a legend.

Following special guest appearances in Ireland last summer with Willie Nelson and Leona Lewis as well as dates of her own including the Dublin Olympia Theatre and performing duets with Elaine Paige during her recent UK tour, Hermione is performing at the London Feis in June and intends to tour the country later this year. Having written songs for Frances Black, Roisin O'Reilly and Rhian Mair Lewis, the album and tour will see Hermione debuting her self-penned material.
